Trattoria Il Cafone is a charming family Italian restaurant located in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, in the vicinity of Rutherford and the Meadowlands hotel area. Adjacent to Route 3, Il Cafone is a required stop before or after your trip to New York City or the Giants’ sports stadium. At Il Cafone you are welcome to bring your own wine which you can easily purchase next door and delight in authentic Italian cuisine in a warm environment.
Chef and owner Roberto Oliveri has had more than sixteen years experience in some of the better Italian restaurants in the New York and New Jersey area. He has brought his experience to Trattoria Il Cafone since he opened it in 1997 and is accompanied by a loyal and friendly staff who have been with him since the beginning. This has helped to create a consistency of quality and reliability that provides you with a memorable experience.
The menu consists of a number of daily specials as well as the standard homemade and fresh pastas which can be also ordered gluten free or whole wheat depending on your taste as well as a variety of hot and cold appetizers, risottos, meats and seafood. This is further complemented by an assortment of delicious homemade desserts and Italian Sorbetto.
Il Cafone is open Monday to Friday from 11:30am to 2:30pm for lunch and from 5:00pm to 10:00pm for dinner, including an early bird special from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm, except Fridays, which is particularly appealing to people going to the theaters in Manhattan. On Saturdays the restaurant is open from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, and on Sundays from 3:00pm to 9:00pm.
Reservations are requested and parties for special occasions can easily be accommodated upon request. There are handicap facilities and an ample parking lot (behind the restaurant, on Rutherford Avenue. It is located to your left after the Enterprise parking lot).
